  • I don't know. I just learned this with your question. I feel extremely bad. It is one of the worst crimes of the present time. I am very sad that this could happen. I suppose that many people in the world will be moved from this crime. Let the killing end. Edited: "The killing of Benazir Bhutto sends the United States back to square one in its search for a Pakistan that is a stable, democratic partner in a fight against Islamic extremism, analysts said on Thursday." • That pretty woman was killed, how terrible.
  • Well, I think that it mostly affect our hopes for a more equal society for Pakistani people. I really hope that it will redouble the commitment for other women in the middle east to stand up and fight for their own equality, but I fear that it might scare just as many into submission. At this point I think it is unclear how the US government will act in regard to this assassination. It could make them more reticent to champion such a progressive leader in that part of the world. I might also have the opposite effect. I am sure that many of the presidential candidates and government officials will shamelessly use this great woman's death to further their own cause in the way of media spin.
  • It may have changed the outcome of the Presidential election. The Democrats are not looking good right now. Clinton just got off the news and she looks very phony. McCain is probably going to make some gains on this as well as Rudy. The Democrats may have lost the White House over this one. Don't kill me...just my honest opinion...If you disagree I will listen and give a good argument points.
  • I doubt it will affect US policy very much. The Bush/Cheney crime families (and the US electorate) have been very indifferent to the suffering of 'towelheads'. We have already made our Faustian bargain with "President" (translation: military dictator) Musharraf. More innocent people dying is just the price of that bargain. . http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/6912947.stm
