pixies are small and mystical much like a fairy However, faries tend to be more serious than pixies. And if you ever meet a pixie she can cast a love spell on you that renders you helpless. however they can be quiet the practical jokers .i myself know a pixie. She is a purple magical pixie. And she can force a smile on even the angriest canine. But never cross a purple magical pixie. Ive never met one who crossed a purple pixie. BUT ive heard of two that have. they no longer roam on the planet earth(as we know it)but if you ever meet a purple pixie(usually on the first quarter moon in march on the west side of a swamp with all the lillypads on the eastside of the swamp) offer her iced tea and tickle her feet and you will have a pixie of your own

I am the pixie that kennie talks about, however without the protection of a special man (we'll call him kennie ) I would not exsist in this world. He brought me from the west where i was in grave danger and with his wonderful love and care clipped my wings and kept me from harm. You see pixies cannot survive on thier own they need love and ice tea to flourish. For that i am forever gratefull for my special kennie xoxo

A Pixie is a person with a specific medical condition including a short stature and a shared characteristic facial appearance. The mythical creatures and their appearance are based upon the real condition. In researching the subject today I can find no reference to the one hour documentary that I saw in the seventies on Pixies. I had a friend who had all the physical characteristics of those in the documentary. I have also known a young girl with Williams Syndrome, which has been referenced with the term Pixie, but she did not at all look like a Pixie.

And what do you say about Brownies in comparison and contrast to Pixies?
Avatar Anonymous Dec, 26 2007 at 05:35 PM
Brownies are a wee bit larger than pixies, but the pixies can fly and are more colorful in their attire (if they choose to wear it). In folklore, Brownies have different tasks than pixies, though both look after and care for plants and trees in a forest. Elves are also considered forest dwellers while gnomes, dwarfs, trolls, and goblins are cave, mountain or hill dwellers.

even though a mere mortal may catch a pixie (pixie xxtra trap from canadaian tire 14.99) you must remember to clip the right wing first if not they will swing counter clockwise at unbelivebile speeds and changing life aas we know it and a counter clockwise pixie is very dangerous and hell hath no furry like a counterclock wise pixie. AND REMEMBER never say the word LOLLIPOP to a pixie and always remember pixies can die if dunked in burbon HAPPY PIXIE HUNTING

2) For instance:
"Pixies (also Piskies and Pigsies as they are sometimes known in Cornwall) are mythical creatures of folklore, considered to be particularly concentrated in the areas around Devon and Cornwall, suggesting some Celtic origin for the belief and name. In regional dialect, these mischievous little folk are sometimes referred to as piskies/piskeys or the little people. They are usually depicted with pointed ears, and often wearing a green outfit and pointed hat. Sometimes their eyes are described as being pointed upwards at the temple ends."
