  • PLEASE READ BEFORE ANSWERING!!! . I have been on answer bag for a while now, and in many of the political Q&A i have seen some rather interesting answers. . Many answers accuse the US acts like it rules the world, others say that the US should just get out of the world politics.....in a nutshell...i have seen many answers that either somehow blame the US for all the worlds problems or says that the US is bullying the world around.....and of course, the way that this "problem" could be solved is for the US to pull out of world politics and focus on it's internal issues. . Now, of course the US has it's own political issues and problems, every country does.. . But the last time the US was out of world affairs, one particular thing happend, and other countries begged us to help them. . So my question is, how long would it be before countries were once again asking the US to save them from their own problems if the US got out of world affairs?
  • America is already pretty withdrawn from world affairs. During the past decade or so, the U.S. has been at best highly selective in their involvement in world diplomatic international relations. In fact, at a recent U.N. summit, the U.S. was the only nation to vote against budget allowances to keep the United Nations active and funded. If that doesn't fall into the collumn of of "Withdrawing From World Affairs" I don't know what is. And all else aside, if a government wants to have any place in world affairs, it has to have some accountability for its actions, not just do whatever it wants and tell anyone who objects to be thankful that they're doing anything at all. Just because a nation is large enough that its active presence on the world scene is necessary doesn't mean that it can do whatever it wants by saying that the alternative is complete withdrawal. That's the sort of ultimatum used by an angry child in the midst of a tantrum, not a responsible world power. Granted, yes, if the U.S. withdrew completely from every military, diplomatic, and economic aspect of world affairs at this juncture, it would soon become all too obvious how vital and powerful of an influence America is on the global system. But with great power comes great responsibility, and that responsibility extends far beyond just being there, looking out for your own interests and pet projects, and being part of the world's economy (Which is about all the U.S. does anymore).
  • Not Long. They would most certainly miss our money. On that issue alone, forget about military aid, and political influence, America is consistently the largest donor of humanitarian and financial in the world. The U.N., which everyone seems to love sooo much, would shut down immediately, being as we supply over 50% of their budget. We give 100's of BILLIONS to over 150 countries every year. Yeah, you all, keep crying about how ''evil" we are, and take a look for yourselves at exactly how much we do !!!
  • probably 40 seconds or a minute and a half. - my answer technically was better than the ones up there WOO
  • CommonSense I like your way of trying to get the people here in Answerbag to see a point of view that does not happen very often anymore. I am proud of my country and I think we do the best we can to help. but all these other places and people in the US - want to blame us. They want to live here - but they want to blame us for the problems. I say Bravo to you and I wish more people could see this. If you want change - then you have to be a part of that change.
  • tbh i dont think the british men you shot or blew up in warzones would miss you...
