Of course, I remind you the the Social Security Administration does not have the best track record for answering tax questions correctly.

Tax programs such as turbotax, tax act and others can fill out the proper forms for you based on the information that you give them. But perhaps you just want to know - do I use the 1040, the 1040A or the 1040 EZ? If you are single, have no dependents, do not own a home and are an employee who receives a W-2 from your employer, the 1040EZ is the form for you - it is just what it says, Easy. If you have children and need to claim certain expenses for them like earned income credit or child tax credit or child care credit, then you need the 1040A and the schedules for earned income credit, tax credit and child care credit. If your tax return is more complicated, you own a business or own a home or many other things, then you probably need the 1040 and many different schedules. As stated above, one of the tax programs will help you determine all the forms you need and they are very user friendly.
