I ride. My rules: Common sense,training,common sense, full face helmet and leathers no matter how hot, common sense, eyes grown in back of head, common sense, bike meets safety checks, common sense, ride defensively, common sense, always assume you aren't visible to motorists even if you are on fire and screaming, common sense. The underlying theme as you may have surmised is to exercise common sense safety practices. Protect yourself as much as you can, be as visible as you can. Don't ride in a fashion that endangers you a passenger or others. Road rash is a painful reminder of failing to observe common sense. I've been bit and I'm lucky to be here.
