Mesothelioma is a disease which is intimately associated with asbestos exposure. While there are cases known which have involved children, the peak age of onset is 50-70 years. Children are not more at risk of developing the disease. It is primarily a disease of occupational exposure, i.e., miners, welders, plumbers, etc who work with asbestos.
