A&W probably heads the list, along with MUG. but, the best tasting root beer, ever, was BARREL HEAD. i believe it is history. cannot locate a bottle, anywhere. my wife and i first had a bottle of BARREL HEAD ROOT BEER in either arkansas or georgia in the 1970's. since then, its just a memory. would love to locate some.

Because of the speeding competition between the high profile companies, the amount of press-coverage picks up, and the giants invest even bigger sums to root beer promotion.
