  • If you are the victim of a car accident, you will be asked to file a report as soon as possible detailing any injuries you may have suffered. This report should be as complete as you can make it, even if you just suspect injuries may have occurred. Put down as many details as possible about where on your body and what sort of damage, if you know. Once you are treated and healed, the insurance company may ask you to settle with them for a set amount. This is usually not a good idea unless you are sure you are completely healed, as you may need more extensive or longer treatment than first determined. However, signing the settlement may not permanently negate the right you have to file for further expenses. You may wish to consult a lawyer at this point to make sure you are still covered for continuing problems.
