Once you are treated and healed, the insurance company may ask you to settle with them for a set amount. This is usually not a good idea unless you are sure you are completely healed, as you may need more extensive or longer treatment than first determined. However, signing the settlement may not permanently negate the right you have to file for further expenses. You may wish to consult a lawyer at this point to make sure you are still covered for continuing problems.
