My playstation 2 seems to be going through controllers really quickly. They start to jump around and do actions on there own. I have tried both sony controllers and off brands. Have PS2's ever been known to shortout the controllers?

  I just got a ps2 and when im using the bottons at the browser/setting menue for the consule it works fine but when i put in a game it won't allow me to press x or o, i just bought a new controller 5 min ago, same problem
