Help answer this question below.

Is it illegal for a husband to monitor his wifes (whom which they are getting divorced) email? The account settings are set so that anything sent or received from her e-mail account gets forwarded to his e-mail. Is this Illegal? yes or no? and why?

    Invasion of privacy, see how judges have to allow monitoring of the telephine callsof a suspect, so it ns not an arbitrary issue for the law enforcement community. The principle of illegal search and seizure covcers that. It is also immoral, and dangerous, she is being treated as a non-person, and it could lead to hatred, mis-understanding, jealousy and thus rage so it is not smart for him to do it or for any of us to engage in similar activity when a relationship goes sour.

    I don't know how illegal it is, but it would be...wise...for the wife to get another email address for the time being.

    If hes useing a keylogger. every instant message every email, everything typed on her pc will get sent to him.
    My advice would be to reformat your hard drive.then get a new email account for personal matters.And keep the old one just to mess with him.

    i would have to say my GUESS is that nothing really can be done. as far as it being illegal i'm not sure, i would imagine it may be but unless one can actually PROVE that he's been reading it and it was HIM doing it then i'm sure she just needs to change her password

    Yes illegal! He is stalking her. She needs to create a new email account...and she can change her password until she gets her new account established. Make it a difficult password. However she would be better off creating a new account with another site. She needs to report this to the police, lawyer..and anyone else in ear shot. She needs to keep a journal of everything he does and keep it in a SAFE place that he can not get to.

    It's not really illegal but it is creepy. My soon to be ex actually got into my email account and changed the password settings and all that. When I tried to get in, it said I was putting the password info. and I could not get in. This was a yahoo acct. I contacted Yahoo and the police but thet said there was nothing I could do.

    Of course he can't do that. You should open a new email account and then password protect it! Also tell your lawyer what he is doing.
