Depression ~ Yes Anxiety ~ Usually not

Ummmm... Yep! It sure can.
-
One of the classic symptoms. I've been the poster child for it unfortunately:(
-
It depends on the addictiveness of your personality.

It is a vicious cycle of depression, anxiety and weight gain. See a doctor they will be able to help. Exercise regularly. I know when I dont exercise, which I havent lately, I start to get really bummed and the cycle spirals quickly downward !!

Some people seem to gain weight, while others drop weight. I guess people react differently, but it's probably safe to say that those conditions would cause a CHANGE in your weight and/or eating habits. Also, depression and anxiety drugs can affect your weight either way.
-
Nope. Only food and drink can cause weight gain. (except water)
-
Depression can cause change in weight. Usually, people lose weight, but in atypical depression, you can gain weight. Anxiety often goes hand in hand with depression, so they are closely related. The diagnositic criteria for anxiety does not include weight gain as an indicator, but the diagnositic criteria for depression does. Also, antidepressant medication (and some anti-anxiety medication) can cause weight gain. HTH.

It certainly can, I'm seeing a psychologist at present, and apart from obesity and being overweight, or even underweight, I've been told that in most cases, when you manage to be content and happy and love the person that you are, your weight should settle to what is suitable to your body structure, so it depression definately has a big impact on both weight loss and gain ;-)
-
Yes it can and also the opposite. One of my friends has been losing a lot of weight and she has both depression and anxiety.
-
It can make you gain or you can lose weight. Also if you are on any medications for depression, many have the side effect of weight gain.
