  • In most states if you have ever been diagnosed or judged "mentally ill" you cannot own or carry a firearm. The reason being, if the meds quit working, or you quit taking them, you may become dangerous. Kinda like an epileptic not driving.   • I know in NY if you were ever treated for a mental illness you are not allowed to have a gun.
  • By "diagnosed or judged" do you mean by the court? Or does this mean "diagnosed" by a doctor?
