Well... If you have a carb then you don't have fuel injectors. Obviously you're having a problem with the fuel entering the carb. So I would work backwards. Remove and clean the carb. Soak it in some mineral spirits for a couple of hours, try to get all the gunk off. You can also get a carb rebuild kit. They are not very expensive and you can do it yourself. This will improve your gas millage in any case. If this does not fix the problem, replace your fuel filter and try again. If still not starting it's probably the pump or a clogged fuel line. Best bet is to take the thing to a mechanic, if you don't know what you're doing.

I always start with the cheapest or easiest thing to fix or replace first then work up to replacing major parts. With your situation I would check for a clogged fuel filter first, if you haven't changed it our in a while or ran your tank down to the last few drops you could have easily clogged it up. You could have as many as three filters somewhere, but normally you have one somewhere near the carb probably before the fuel pump, and you may have one inline somewhere under the vehicle. Some vehicles now have one in the tank itself.
