    It is an eyeglass and is put in front of one of the eyes.

    it's a lens that goes over only one of your eyes. i wouldn't wear it at all, as i need corrective lenses for *both* of my eyes! plus, they look funny.

    a monocle is glasses for one eye. you wear it if you have a problem with one eye, or if you're going to a costume party.
