  • No where near as high as many other brands. This isn't to say that they don't have quality models, its just that the name Yamaha doesn't work with guitars much like Gretsch, Gibson or Fender. There are a few reasons for this. Yamaha is a huge corporation which produces everything from home entertainment electronics to motorcycles and jet skis. Guitarists seem to prefer brands which have always been entirely guitar oriented. Also, even though artist endorsements doesn't denote the value of an instrument, there is still something to be said for the fact that Yamaha's prominent artists roster is lacking. The fact is Yamaha does not have a well-known guitar guru such as al di meola, steve vai, eric clapton, etc. to really bolster the name. As far as music goes Yamaha is better known for their keyboards and processors.
