  • It really depends on the designer. Some jewelry designers, I'm talking antiques now, never signed their pieces but they are still valuable when identified by a qualified appraiser. If a designer usually signs their work, and didn't stamp a piece it could be worth more because of the faux pas. Generally for a respected jeweler, a signed piece is an identification as well as a sign of authenticity. Remember to have it scrutinized by an expert before claiming you have an authentic piece.
