Question

Help answer this question below.

Does any one think it's necessary forhe/she to have minus points if their answer is rated "NOT HELPFUL". How is any one supposed to know whether they're answers are not helpful when posted. For all I know this question could be rated NOT HELPFUL.

Why doesn't Answerbag follow the format of other sites and show number of "thumbs ups" vs number of "thumbs down"? That seems mo bettah than point totals.

Trust me, I get DR all the time. Be yourself. Ask the questions that you want, give the answers & comments that you like. There are enough people that will boost you when they see you getting DRs. As long as you are not being cruel, don't wrry about it.

minus points... I have a bad experience in minus points
someone gave -4 on my 15 Q&A in one hour
    it was so discouraging...
    AB must see to it

Minus rating should be ceased as it is so demotivating for all.

if they on't like it, they may ignore reading it
    simple.. hope AB reads this

Don't worry about it. It's not a test. You get points, you lose points - they're only points. You are getting feedback: other people's opinions of your answers and opinions. Comments are obviously more helpful than minus points but the minus points have their place too.

How do you ever know if you're helpful or not - surely it subjective?
You're answering a question: if that person doesn't like it and it hasn't helped them, then can they not just ignore it? It seems a lot of effort to DR and monitor just for that reason. But then some people are just like that.
