The one about that judge suing a dry-cleaning for failing to return his pants. Who sues a company for millions over a pair of pants? Geez.
I recently read a Stella Award about a burglar who broke into someone's house, slid into their garage and got locked in. Evidently the family was on vacation and the burglar was trapped for 8 days and had to live on dogfood and Pepsi.
He sued, and apparently won $500,000. (If the story is true). I figured it out. If I could somehow spare $6000 per year, it would take me 83 years to pay this off.
SO... I have a much better idea thanks to the Shmuck that won the $500,000 and the ignorant jury that awarded it... I will only have to pay for 20 years. And only then, if they find his body.
The woman who sued for child support after giving a guy a blow job. Apparently she wasn't a swallower. Instead she saved his semen in a container without the guy's knowledge and used it to inseminate herself and successfully achieved pregnancy. She admitted that it was a blow job and her counsel argued that the semen was a gift, freely given without the expectation of it being returned. Since it was a gift the recipient, the woman filing for child support and medical expenses, had the right to use it in whatever way she saw fit.
a guy on Judge ALex was mad at another guy because the plaintiff's 8-year-old daughter was on a team that wasn't winning any Soccer Games, so he wanted her to switch to another team.
The defendant was the guy in charge of the Soccer League, and he said no, she can't change teams, so the daughter's dad took the guy to court.
and lost
The lady who won millions for getting hot coffee from Mcdonalds.
I believe it may be the older woman that spilled her hot coffee at a McDonalds and won $25 mil. Isn't it understood that coffee is served hot? Another one would be that Judge that had his pants lost at a dry cleaners and sued for about $50 mil. He lost but the owners of the dry cleaners had to shut their store down because of the legal fees they incurred.
It was over a dress coat, a very flamboyant affair in sunshine yellow, with frills.
It involved two drag queens, one English, we'll call her 'E', and an American 'A'.
'A' admired the coat belonging to 'E', 'E' said "Oh have it!", meaning 'A' could borrow it. But 'A' said that in America, that meant she could have it for keeps...
Anyway, it came to the small claims court, and 'A' had to give the coat back - with a pout and a flea in her ear that she should learn the customs of the country and not plead ignorance - that is no excuse! 'A' was ordered to pay pay £200 for loss of wear to 'E'
I was ridiculous, but highly entertaining!! :D
The people who sued McDonalds for making them fat. If you are too fucking stupid to realize eating McDonalds every day will make you fat then we really dont need you around... and since the prisons are too full to put them away and keep them from the possibility of procreating and making the human race even more stupid, I think we need to figure out away to remove them from the planet for good and very quickly!
I vote for public hangings for selfish, self indulgent, stupidity. This could also provide a cure for all the reality TV morons and their wannabees.
This type of crap does nothing but promote more stupid lawsuits and keeps the actual people who have been wronged from a speedy trial.
Hey Fat Ass, come eat this brown burger in between my buns!
A man bought some very expensive cigars and placed a hefty insurance amount on them.
He then sought insurance money after the cigars were destroyed in "a series of small fires", and sued the insurance company when they refused to honor the insurance agreement.
The insurance company counter-sued him for "arson" of insured property and other fraud-type charges.
The insurance company won in the end, but it was a creative attempt by the man!
Canada : Maher Arar awarded 12 million for alleged torture in Seria. USA still won't let that grease ball fly, Canada rolled over and the tax payers took one in the ass.
