On March 19, 1954 at the East High Billiard Club in Springfield, Ohio, Willie Mosconi played an announced exhibition against Earl J. Bruney, a local Springfield player. Mosconi pocketed 526 consecutive balls and then missed. The table was a Brunswick 4x8. The highest run in world championship competition was 182 by Joe Procita against Mosconi in 1951. Irving Crane made 309 on a 5x10 in an exhibition in 1939.
