  • Yes! "The simple pleasures" are what keep us poor folk sane. I see more happy poor folk than I do happy wealthy people. The wealthy are often too busy getting or staying that way to slow down and enjoy life.

  • Sounds good, but when you are flat busted broke and facing street life, no family, no friends that would or could help, nothing in the world or nature looks very beautiful....No religion really has a secret formula for getting through all the viscisitudes of life. They try, but it really comes down to "do I really want to go on or not?" Most people do, and that is courage. Real courage that comes from the gut...and the heart. I am not saying the platitudes are worthless. They can and do help many. But, sometimes, it takes much more...
