Is Photoshop Elements 5 really easier to use for the average photographer than photoshop CS2?

    Elements is a simplified version of Photoshop. It is easy to use.

    Photoshop CS3 (or CS2) is one of the most complex programs out there. Novices think they can use it. Sure, they can use it for some basic things.

    Yes, but why go for something that is old? There is Photoshop Elements 6 available at this time. Photoshop Elements takes out a lot of the things that people that are not familliar with the Photoshop family may be confused by. It also makes it a cheaper alternative for those who arent looking to spend the 649 on the pro version of Photoshop. So, in short, yes, Photoshop Elements is a great program for the average photographer, you should download the free trial at adobe.com/downloads
