  • I don't think so. Christianity defines God in one way. Heads-up - God is before, beyond, and above all words. Being the Alpha and the Omega doesn't mean man gets to say what You are. Quick - describe the mouse at your computer. See - and that's just a mouse. God is everything, before everything - our concept of salvation and who gets in is a joke when you recognize how puny our brains are relative to God.
  • Well if you don't believe in god i doubt you'll really be concerned with going to heaven. On the off chance that your beliefs are actually correct, I don't see what kind of benevolent figure would be so petty as to reject admission to heaven based on non-belief.
  • In Catholicism, everyone gets into heaven no matter what. In the greater amount of your Protestant religions, non-Christians are on the slow boat to hell. It all depends on what you think makes more sense to you.
  • There are so many different ways that the sub-classes of Christianity view God that it's impossible to give one definite answer. Catholics will say one thing while Methodists will say another and so on, so depending on what you believe in, it may or may not matter. If you're 100% loyal to your beliefs and you trust your church, you could always ask your pastor or priest. THAT'S THE BEST WAY TO DETERMINE WHAT'S WHAT. He's most likely going to say something along the lines of your friend needing to be converted.
  • edited due to foot-in-mouth syndrome. Sorry.
  • Have trust. If God is fair (worth worshipping) your friend will be fine. If not, she will still be fine. Wish the best for friend and foe alike.
  • Your friend has to make her own mind up regarding her beliefs and find her way in life. Some of us take longer then others. :)
  • You Need to Let your Friend find their own faith or lack of. Religion in My opinion should never affect friendships or the likes.
  • Let's see what God, in the Bible, says. He says, "Be holy as I am holy." Jesus says, "Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and soul and strength and mind. And love your neighbor as yourself. Do these things and you will live." He also says, "There is no one righteous, no, not one. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." So, according to this, no one meets the criteria to get into heaven. People try to fix it by being better- but they still sinned in the past. Too late. They try to compare to other people- well, I'm better than him. But God doesn't want us to compare to other people; he wants us to compare to him. Which we all fail to do. We- all of us- deserve hell because we have failed to live up to God's standards. His answer? Jesus. He came and lived the lives we couldn't. He was holy. And he died in our place, taking all our sins on him. So, he gave us his holiness, and took our sins. He gave us what we need. The point of all this? To get to your question, Jesus is the only way to get into heaven. He's given his gift freely to all people. Anyone can have it- murderers, pedophiles, you, me. The gift is there, waiting for us to receive it. If a person refuses Jesus, they refuse that gift. Does your friend trust Jesus as her Savior? Good! No? Then keep praying and presenting the truth- in love. Don't whack her over the head with it! Probably won't work. And keep being a good friend. Spend time with her. Do fun things. Oh- and if someone takes umbridge with my answer as to who can receive salvation- once saved, Jesus works on you so you want to leave your sinful past behind.
  • do go out much? or are you too scared to go near anyone who isn't catholic??? i can't believe someone would ask a question like this. it says in the bible, Love thy neighbour. it doesn't say, love thy neighbour unless they're not catholic.
  • What is Heaven and what is Hell? Whether you are Catholic, Christian, Buddist, Hindu, Moslem, Jewish, does that make you what you are, are you that title, are you that? So does Catholism go to Heaven, do you take these titles with you? Are there gatherings of church goers, in the after life, are there those who walk the streets of Hell and say there is no such place. What does it matter what language you speak, or tale you tell, how does this world matter to the after-life, what is life what is after-life without talk? Consider this, your vibration is the determining factor in your surroundings in life, so also is it a determining factor after-life. What pastor has shown you Heaven, which one is Here to bring you there? You should not put your Faith in mans desciption of Heaven, or Hell. The after life is so vast, I have seen it, there is not the limitation of space. So what is there to be afraid of? If you are afraid today and you pass tonight, will you not be afraid of where you are then just the same? But if you are Peaceful, full of Joy, won't you stay that way, for that is what you know. If you are confused isn't that what you know? Why think you will metomorph into somehting you cant understand. We learn gradually, do you think one life is enough to understand the Infinate who created His Children. He has been Patiently Teaching us through countless lifes that we are Always Eternaly with Him. He has never left any of His Children, He will not leave you or your friend. Why make Him into a God who punishes His Children with Fire. That is Not the Father of us, that is the product of our seperation from Him, our made ego, a false self. Thats why all the seperate stories of Heaven and Hell have been told, all the egos, full of fear, full of doubt, and totally unrealistic, of the Father of Peace. Meditation, Pranayama, is the science of God-Realization, Study and practice this with your friend, or any one of any class, and ye shall find God together, Amen. God Bless
  • Then pray for her. Remember, God has her entire lifetime to get through to her. YOU don't have the power to save her anyway. If she knows where you stand, and what you believe, all you can do is be a good example. Be gentle and have a humble heart, and you will be all the Gospel she needs.
  • I don't believe in gravity. so I am going to jump off a building 10 stories up. What do you think will happen to me? Yes I am going to jump from the building and plunge to my death. Just because I don't believe in the law of gravity it doesn't mean that I am won't face the consequences of my ignorance. Your friend will go to hell if she doesn't repent of her sins and place her trust in Christ. Many are willingly ignorant the bible states. wittness to her by asking her if she has ever lied, stolen, had sex outside of marriage ect.waken up her conscience and use the ten commandments to shake her. tell her she needs to repent( turn away from her sin) and trust in christ or she will end up in hell.
  • Hell is where people go who choose continued separation from God. God is the source of all good. For those who choose to stay separated from God, there is an existence. It's not an existence you want! Imagine removing all sources of good from your life. But God offers forgiveness to anyone willing to receive him. People choose continued separation from God. Others choose a relationship with Jesus and enjoy the love they were created for and eternity with Him in Heaven. He respects what they choose. Pray that the Holy Spirit convicts your friend of her need for Jesus and his forgiveness, of the emptiness outside of a relationship with God, and of her sin. Sin blinds you and makes you hostile towards God. Witness with your life--people will see your peace, joy, patience and love. And "be ready to speak up and tell [your friend] why you're living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy." (1 Peter 3:15) And remember that only God can convict us of our sin and our need of Christ. Successful evangelism, as they say, is taking the initiative in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results up to God. And know that God doesn't one anyone lost (2 Peter 3:9) and wants your friend to come into a relationship with Him more than you do! It's what he created her for.
  • Be at ease and don't be afraid for her, she has made her choice in life and you should respect her for it. The world has a huge population and that population is made up of many different belief systems - you should be tollerant and respectfull of other peoples religions, or for that matter, their lack of religion. If you feel like it - as a christian you shoud add her into your prayers - and maybe invite her to your religious services - but in the end you must respect her right to choose her own path in life, and in afterlife.
  • you have a catholic AND a christian religion? Do you consider them somehow mutually exclusive? You sound like the confused one.
  • Hell is not a choice of God, it is the choice of man who wants to reject God. "For God so greatly loved the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life." (John 3:16)
  • Do non-Muslims go straight to hell? Most people think (rightly or wrongly) that Islam is an exclusive religion. The thinking goes: You either believe in it or you don't. Anyone who doesn't, will suffer punishment. That punishment will most likely be the Hellfire. Or the thinking goes: Hold on, what about all the really good people who were (or are) non-Muslim. Mother Teresa, Mahathma Gandhi, and so on, did countless good things for humanity. Will all their good deeds go to waste just because they weren't Muslims? But what is the answer? Does Islam say that all non-Muslims will go to hell? This post is not to say that the answer is "Yes, they're all gonna be punished" or "No, God is Love, the good people will be ok". This post is merely to give food for thought, and, if it makes any conclusion at all, will be to say "Don't know for sure, but not necessarily". People cite different verses from the Qur'an to present their particular view point. Let's take a look at a few (please note that for in-depth Quranic exegesis please refer to qualified Quranic scholars): "Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve." (Holy Qur'an 2:62 and (almost identical in) 5:69) This seems to indicate that salvation is dependent upon three conditions only: Belief in God, Belief in the Day of Judgement, and righteous or good deeds. What about Mother Teresa and her ilk of righteous non-Muslims? "Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it! And anyone who has done an atom's weight of evil, shall see it." (Holy Qur'an 99:7-8)
  • Hell Fire جهنم Islam teaches that Hell is a real place prepared by God for those who do not believe in Him, rebel against His laws, and reject His messengers. Hell is an actual place, not a mere state of mind or a spiritual entity. The horrors, pain, anguish, and punishment are all real, but different in nature than their earthly counterparts. Hell is the ultimate humiliation and loss, and nothing is worse than it: “Our Lord! Surely, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed You have disgraced him, and never will the wrongdoers find any helpers.” (Quran 3:192) “Know they not that whoever opposes God and His Messenger (Muhammad), certainly for him will be the Fire of Hell to abide therein? That is the extreme disgrace.” (Quran 9:63) The Names of Hell Hell Fire has different names in Islamic texts. Each name gives a separate description. Some of its names are: Jaheem – fire - because of its blazing fire. Jahannam - Hell - because of the depth of its pit. Ladthaa - blazing fire - because of its flames. Sa’eer - blazing flame - because it is kindled and ignited. Saqar - because of the intensity of its heat. Hatamah - broken pieces or debris - because it breaks and crushes everything that is thrown into it. Haawiyah - chasm or abyss - because the one who is thrown into it is thrown from top to bottom. Paradise and Hell Presently Exist and are Eternal Hell exists at the present time and will continue to exist forever. It will never pass away and its inhabitants will remain in it forever. Traditional Muslim belief is that no one will come out of Hell except sinful believers who believed in the Oneness of God in this life and believed in the specific prophet sent to them. The polytheists and unbelievers will reside in it forever. This belief has been held from classical times and is based on clear verses of the Quran and confirmed reports from the Prophet of Islam. The Quran speaks of Hell in the past tense and states that it has already been created: “And fear the Fire which is prepared for the disbelievers.” (Quran 3:131) The Prophet of Islam said: “When any of you dies, he is shown his position (in the Hereafter) morning and evening. If he is one of the people of Paradise, he is shown the place of the people of Paradise. If he is one of the people of Hell, he is shown the place of people of Hell. He is told, ‘this is your position, until God resurrects you on the Day of Resurrection.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim) In another report, the Prophet said: “Surely, the soul of a believer is a bird hanging on the trees of Paradise, until God returns it to his body on the Day of Resurrection.” (Muwatta of Malik) These texts make it clear that Hell and Paradise exist, and that souls may enter them before the Day of Resurrection. Speaking of Hell’s eternity, God says: “They will long to leave the Fire, but never will they leave there from; and theirs will be a lasting torment.” (Quran 5:37) “…And they will never leave of the Fire.” (Quran 2:167) “Surely, those who disbelieve and did wrong; God will not forgive them, nor will He guide them to any way except the way of Hell, to dwell therein forever.” (Quran 4:168-169) “Surely, God has cursed the disbelievers, and has prepared for them a flaming Fire wherein they will abide for ever.” (Quran 33:64) “And whosoever disobeys God and His Messenger, then surely, for him is the fire of Hell, he shall dwell therein forever.” (Quran 72:23) The Keepers of Hell Mighty and stern angels stand over Hell who never disobey God. They do precisely as ordered. God says: “O you who believe, save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is men and stones over which are (appointed) angels, stern and severe, who flinch not (from executing) the commands they receive from God, but do (precisely what) they are commanded.” (Quran 66:6) They are nineteen keepers of Hell as God says: “Soon I will cast him into Hell Fire. And what will explain to you what is Hellfire? Nothing does it allow to endure, and nothing does it leave alone! Darkening and changing the color of man! Over it are nineteen (angels as keepers of Hell).” (Quran 74:26:30) One should not think that the inhabitants of Hell will be able to overcome the keepers of Hell because there are just nineteen of them. Everyone of them has the strength to subdue all humanity by himself. These angels are called the Guards of Hell by God in the Quran: “And those in the Fire will say to the Guards of Hell, ‘Call upon your Lord to lighten for us the torment for a day!’” (Quran 40:49) The name of the chief angel guarding over Hell is Malik, as mentioned in the Quran: “Surely, the disbelievers will be in the torment of Hell to abide therein forever. (The torment) will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein. We wronged them not, but they were the wrongdoers. And they will cry: ‘O Malik! Let your Lord make an end of us’ He will say: ‘Surely, you shall abide forever.’ Indeed We have brought the truth to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth” (Quran 43:74-78) The least torture in Hell The severity of its heat, and their variation in it: An-Nu`man ibn Bashir (RA) narrated that he heard the Prophet(SAW) say: “The least torture in the Hell on the Day of Judgment is that of a man whose foot sole is laid on a live coal which causes his brain to boil just like a boiler.” [Bukhari and Muslim] Muslim narrated in his Sahih: “He does not think that any other person is tortured more severely than him although he is in the least torture.” [Muslim] Abu Huraira (RA) narrated: “This fire of yours which burns the son of Adam (in this world) is the seventieth part of the heat of the Hell. They say: ‘We swear by Allah, our fire is quite enough.’ The Prophet said: ‘It is sixty nine times more and each part of it is like the heat of your fire.” [Muslim] Abu Huraira said, that the Prophet (SAW) said: “The Hell complained to her Rabb: O my Rabb! I am eating myself. He allowed her two breaths: One in winter and the other one in summer, and that is why you feel the heat in Summer and the cold in Winter.” [Bukhari and Muslim] Samura narrated that he heard the Prophet, (SAW), said: “Fire holds some to their ankle bones, some to their knees, some to their waists, and some up to their collarbones.” [Muslim] This Hadith is a statement for the variation in degrees in the punishment of those in the Hell. We seek protection of Allah from it and from anything that leads to it whether word or deed. Aamiin!
  • God says dont put no one before me. He knows when your heart is intended on good things and if you pray for your friend then the LORD's grace will be brought upon her. The devil is a LIAR... and he has your friend confused. But the LORD is forgiving and loving everlasting...amen.
  • I know exactly what you are dealing with because I went through this exact same problem when I was seven.
  • best to worry about yourself first. preaching does no good. lead my example not try to lead by what you say.
  • IF you're Catholic you can buy your way into heaven. Christians need to believe in God so they know who is Son is to make it.
  • You have to share the Gospel with her. Tell her how Jesus was crucified for our sins, and that he was raised from the dead so that in Him we may have eternal life. "Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Peter,[b] and then to the Twelve. 6After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born." (1 Corinthians 15)
  • John 14:1,Jesus said,I am the way the truth and the life,no man cometh unto the Father but by ME.Revelation 20:15,And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
  • any religion that can make anyone feel despare in this day and age sucks
  • Not even a Christian knows if he / she is going to Heaven because that's God's decision to make that call on who enters and who does not, and The Holy Bible makes it clear on Matt 7:21... Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. So if your best friend does not believe, then try talking to her about the word of God, and if she does not want to listen, then you should not feel afraid for her because that's her freedom of choice, and she decides if she wants to follow or not.
  • That answer changes depending on what you believe. I'm a satanist and I believe that there is no heaven or hell. Granted, I don't know what happens after a person dies.
