  • No, not for me. All 3 of my accidents happened more than 5 miles from home.
  • I've only had one accident, about 25 miles away from home.
  • i never had an accident
  • 1.4 feet thats funny .did you wait untill a car came down the road and stuck 1.4 feet out of your driveway.
  • I don't know what to think about those statistics. They're reasonable in that most of the driving we do IS close to home. If that's where we are, generally, that's where we'll get hit. We can't get hit someplace else if we're not someplace else. But the couple of times I've been hit, I've been far away. (I commuted 45 miles for many years.) And driving errors are more likely on unfamiliar ground. So go figure.
  • The only recent accident my car has had (I wasn't in it!) was being hit by a friend who was trying to back out of my driveway! So my accident actually happened a few feet from my home!
  • The spot where accidents are most likely for me are 1.1 miles away but I am paranoid enough about entering a 55 MPH zone in the middle of a blind corner that I have lucked out so far. A couple of years ago, I arrived at that corner and found 3/4 of a car with the driver halfway in the back seat. The one accident I've had was over 30 miles from home.
  • Yeah, a neighbor backed into my car before I left the development. True True.
  • My ex-wife called me at 10:30 one night and said she was in an accident up the street from our apartment. She was one of the safest drivers I have come across. So naturally I thought it was a joke, and told her. "Thats a good one" and hung up the phone. It became unfunny when a Indianapolis Police Officer had a call routed from his squad car 5 minutes later through the main IPD switchboard, to assure me it was no joke. See accidents can happen anywhere to anyone.
  • I haven't had many accidents, but all of them were farther away than that. Statistically speaking though, you drive within 1.4 miles of your home most often so you have a higher probabilty if being hit in an area that you most often drive.
  • Jimmy's accident was approx. 2 miles from our home.
  • i have only had one accident near home it was 1/4 mile away. the rest wast 30 or more miles away in a different city. but my worst one was the one 1/4 mile from my house.

  • I've heard that!!! That's why when I get close to home, I close my eyes and take my hands off of the steering wheel. Can't be too careful you know!
  • The two accidents I've had have been over 10 miles from home.
