I'm assuming that you are looking for something other than the standard sit-up/crunch. The best ab exercises I have ever heard of are done on a stability ball. You can do crunches on the ball and you will work your entire core (muscles of the abs, obliques, back, glutes, hips, etc.) simultaneously. You can also do an oblique crunch, which is similar to the regular crunch except that, as you raise your upper body you would also twist to one side to target the obliques. You would want to do equal number of crunches to the left as you would to the right. If you are looking for something that doesn't involve a ball, try standing one arm presses. Just stand with one arm at your side, with a dumbbell in the other with your arm at a 90 degree angle and press it up until your arm is straight up in the air. It is a surprisingly effective ab and (especially) oblique workout.
