I try to plan so that I don't have leftovers unless I *want* to have them. Otherwise, I use up anything that I can in subsequent dinners. I also keep a container in my freezer that is just for little bits of meat and veggies that aren't big enough for serving another portion. When that's full, I make "freezer soup." I am very frugal about food. Like Galeanda, nothing gets wasted at our house.

Save all the bits in a special 'bits of stuff' container in the freezer, ie, spaghetti, pasta, rice, cheese ends, gravy, bits of meat, the odd spoonful of veggies left over. When the container is full, mash all the stuff together and depending on what's already in there add an egg to help bind it, shape into patties and fry or grill - makes a great Saturday lunch...just add something suitable for the season, salad or baked beans or just toast...yum
