  • i heard that rosemary helps your hair grow. Well, i tried it about 3 days ago, and now i can actually tell my hair has grown!
  • Hair is dead, so putting something ON it will NOT make it grow. There are certain foods you can eat, and certain vitamins you need to make it grow faster. I suggest buying Biotin.
  • Sorry. Hair grows only as fast as human genetics allows. Everyone's hair grows pretty much at the same rate, about 1/2 inch per month. Some people's hair seems like it grows faster than others because their hair is stronger and less prone to breakage and split ends. People who experience "slow" hair growth are really just experiencing what happens when the ends of their hair breaks easier. This could be do to any number of reasons, like artificial hair coloring, naturally dry scalp and hair, malnourished root bulb, weak structure, etc. Certainly taking vitamins and getting proper nutrition will help weak and malnourished hair, but will not make your hair grow faster. You can also try topical treatments, like deep conditioners and scalp massages (this promotes better blood flow through the capillaries that supply the root bulb and loosens dirt and oils from the scalp that may be blocking pores). Also, getting you hair cut every 6-8 weeks -- just a trim! -- is the BEST way to make it seem like your hair is growing faster. Doing this regularly will trim away the broken and weaker ends, keeping the full length of the shaft stronger, thereby preventing further breakage which keeps making the hair shorter and shorter.
  • One more advise in addition to Teknimage's reply. Take half a cup LUKE WARM (less if your hair are short) of extra virgin olive oil, apply on scalp, massage, and put hot steaming towel (if u have microwave, wet a towel, keep for 1.5 minute in MW), wrap your hair in the steaming towel, repeat at least 3-4 times, keep the oil for about 2 hrs on your hair and then shampoo. It feeds the hair with oil and increases the circulation on the scalp thus helps the hair growth.
  • You are male, right? Why do you want hair to grow faster? Do you have a thing for your hairdresser and you like to check out her cleavage while she is snipping your locks? I am only being funny now. I wish my hair would stop growing. I look like Pe Pe LePew right now with my silver "skunk" stripe in my center part. Short hair can be very sexy and bald heads can be even better. Just my personal preference, I am weird.
  • Wash it, keep it clean and healthy. And It will keep your scalp healthy, which will let your hair grow out faster
  • Hair and nails grow faster when you have an excellent, balanced diet. If you're a healthy person then your dead cells (like hair and nails) are rejuvinated -excuse my spelling- faster plus are stronger and healthier. ..well, for what dead cells can be anyway
  • Hair is an appendage of the skin, it's a byproduct. There are to ways to get your hair to grow 'faster'. Consume more nutrients/eat more or stimulate the blood flow to your scalp by massaging it. There are oils to aid this but a basic household one that can be washed out will work just fine. By increasing the blood flow to the bulb of the hair you will be feeding it nutrients that nourish the hair which in turn 'speeds' up hair growth.
  • i know salmon oil is good for skin and hair regeneration. you can find it in any drug store in caplet form.

  • I was told that gelatin would make nails grow stronger and longer but never heard of any magic potion for hair. Maybe if you stand on your head for a few minutes a day all that blood will rush to your scalp and nourish the follicles?
  • You can't make your hair grow faster than it would in the first place, but you can improve your diet to see maximum growth. Eat a healthy diet and make sure you're getting enough biotin and protein. I know some people break out with too much biotin, but you can try supplements to see if it works for you. I second massages, but I don't recommend trimming your hair more often than is necessary. If your ends are dry and split, you'll probably have to trim to see the growth since it could be breaking off. You could try trimming a quarter of an inch each time until you've cut all the damage off. Even a small trim can improve your hair. If your hair is healthy down to the ends, there really is no reason to trim unless you want to keep your ends blunt and full-looking. Good luck!

  • Trim it. Freshly cut hair grows faster. Don't cut too much off of you'll defeat the purpose of the trim. Hair Growing Tips Some hair loss experts have discovered that people have excellent hair growing results by following the Zone Diet, which is low in fat. Many other hair care experts recommend the Zone Diet as very helpful for hair care concerns. Here are some other hair growing tips: 1. Eliminate or cut back on smoking, caffeine and carbonated sodas which weaken the body and block maximum hair growing potential. 2. Eat a healthy diet. Avoid foods that are high in sugar or fat. 3. Treat your hair like a piece of fine old lace. Treat it carefully avoiding any unnecessary brushing, combing or handling. 4. Avoid use of hot water, hot blow dryers or other hair care tools that may stress the hair. 5. Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles. 6. Do a series of ongoing hot oil treatments to protect the hair's shaft. 7. Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier. 8. Get plenty of rest and sleep to allow your body to grow hair.
  • It won't grow unless you trim the ends, it will just keep splitting and look like crap. Try to trim the dead ends off every other month.
  • The fastest way to make your hair grow is to take hair vitamins. They will make it grow a little faster. And not to be a b.... but cutting your hair will not make it grow faster. It will make it look better but it will grow the same amount in the same amount of time. Hair grows from the scalp and nothing done to the ends will affect it's growth rate.
  • Brewer's Yeast tablets. It will grow about twice as fast.

  • Braiding it at night real tight and use horse hair shampoo, or use it as is and use sculputing mudd, also you can pull it back and add an attachment in back that is your hair color. I bet ya look great thou!!
  • brush it everyday and make sure u wash it and keep it heathy and such but keep it away from hair straightners cause it burns hair >.< i learn the hard way by the heat of the hair straightner. lol i hope this helps.
  • Have it trimmed regularly, brush it carefully, and maintain good nutrition. I have heard that there are some shampoos that help but all I have seen are claims, not personal testimonials. Many people do not trim their hair if they want it to grow. This is not the correct thing to do because, if you do not trim it, the split ends eat up the length.
  • Hair typically grows one half inch per month. When I was young the theory was to brush it 100 strokes every night before bed. I always had long hair so maybe it does really work!

  • How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster Can you make your hair grow faster? While you can't override your genes, you can maximize your hair growth by following some steps. [edit] StepsAssess the current condition of your hair. Is it healthy, shiny and smooth, or has it been damaged from heat, sun, coloring, etc? You don't want to grow out hair that is damaged and scraggly. If you suffer from split, thin, and dry ends, seriously consider getting a trim to remove as much of the damage as possible. Split ends will not slow down growth, as your hair grows from the scalp, but getting rid of them will make your hair more neat and attractive. Look at your overall health and your lifestyle. How is your diet? Do you exercise and sleep enough? Are you under a large amount of stress? If your body is lacking in health, your hair will be lacking as well. Your hair growth rate will be at its maximum when you are at your healthiest. Make some dietary changes. Hair consists of protein (because hair is keretinized protein) so be sure that you are getting enough. Incorporate foods from all food groups - especially protein. Nuts, poultry, vegetables, fruits, grains, eggs, etc. all contribute to hair health. Bacon is a hair superfood because of the B-Complex vitamins and protein, but frequent consumption is not reccomended because it can add to your waist line. Consider taking a daily vitamin supplement. There are many options on the market nowadays. Research the multi-vitamins which may work best for you. Other vitamins and minerals that are believed to contribute to hair growth are: biotin, beta-carotene, biosil, b complexes, magnesium, sulfur, zinc, silica, nettle, and flaxseed oil. A good hair vitamin will contain all of the nutrients necessary for overall health, as well as those specific to hair growth. Biotin and MSM are ingredients every hair vitamin should contain. Biotin promotes cell growth, the production of fatty acids, metabolism of fats, and amino acids. MSM lengthens the hair growth phase. Using a combination of the two is beneficial for healthy hair. Using an amino acid supplement is not necessary for growing longer hair. Amino Acids are the building blocks of protein. Thy are found in foods of animal origin, such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Most Americans eat more than enough protien for to supply these amino acids. Only strict vegetarians need to be concerned with their protein intake. So one may assume that using an amino acid supplement can only make hair grow faster.[1] Stimulate blood flow to your scalp. One of the two main ways is by doing cardio. There are many benefits to cardio - staying fit, being healthier, glowing skin, and increased blood flow, which can get rid of strange hues that some people get on their legs and increase hair growth. The other main way of stimulating blood flow is by massaging your scalp. Take the tips of your fingers and message your scalp all over, for about 5 minutes. Do not overbrush your hair and NEVER use a bristled brush, as this will tear and damage your hair. Not to mention it doesn't feel very nice. (Boar bristled brushes, however, are in fact good for your hair as they "maintain good hair condition by keeping it clean, stimulating the scalp and distributing oils for a healthy, glossy look, without ever damaging it or causing split ends." Do not brush your hair when it is wet. Wet hair is very elastic and prone to breakage. De-tangle your hair with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb. Do not overwash your hair. The oils that your scalp produces can be beneficial to the health of your hair. If you wash your hair every day, consider skipping a day or only using conditioner one day instead of both shampoo and conditioner. Shampooing everyday may be necessary for oily hair, but normal hair can get by with shampooing about 2-4 times a week, and dry hair is best when you shampoo about 1-2 a week. Curly hair (types 3A-4C) can be shampooed as little as once a week, to once every two weeks, because curly hair tends to be dryer. Use a shampoo/conditioner that is right for your hair. For instance, if you have dry, frizzy hair, you should not be using products designed for oily hair. Look into using a leave-in conditioner and/or hot oil treatments. Your local beauty supply store (i.e. Sally's) will have many options to choose from. Make sure to read the directions beforehand! Cut back on the coloring sessions, which will inevitably cause your hair damage. If you must color your hair, look into some of the newer dyes available which offer more moisturizing protection when dying. If you want to dye your hair a shade of red, try dying it naturally with henna. If you want to dye your hair black, you can try dying it with a combination of henna and indigo. Use protective styles, which are hair styles that keep your hair up and unexposed from environmental damage. Some examples would be buns, ponytails, plaits, cornrows, french braids, etc. This is very effective for a person whose hair is above shoulder length, because the hair tends to rub against clothes. Use them loosely, though, as you don't want to yank on your roots and scalp. When pulling back your hair, use smooth bands and clips. Avoid metal clips that can tangle and break hair, and never use bare rubber/elastic bands on your hair or hairbands that contain metal connections. Avoid excessively hot water as well as blow dryers and curling irons. If you must use a blow dryer, invest in a diffuser. Consider wearing a cap or scarf of some sort when outside. Excessive heat/cold, wind and the elements can damage your hair. You may also choose to invest in a silk/satin hair wrap or a silk/satin pillowcase to reduce damage to your hair when you toss and turn at night. Remember to have patience. Scalp hair grows at an average rate of 0.4 mm/day (approximately 0.5 in/month). Unless you are genetically programed that you grow hair faster, it will take some good old fashioned time and patience to see the desired results. [2] Your hair growth tends to decrease during colder months. Try as you might, it may take years to grow your hair to a desired length, curly or straight. With trends changing so quickly, you have to consider that by the time your hair is long, it may be more in style to have shorter hair. Be diligent and have patience, and you will at the very least be rewarded with beautiful, healthy, if not long, hair. Love your hair and don't damage it! [edit] TipsIf you get your hair relaxed, you may want to do a relaxer stretch, or decide to go natural, which is much less damaging to your hair. If you decide to stretch or go natural, you can choose to blow or flat iron the roots straight, or wear it in protective styles. If you are an avid swimmer, consider wearing a swimming cap to protect your hair from chlorine damage. Those with curly/frizzy or afro-carribean hair will have to be patient. The texture of your hair means that growing length will take a great deal of time. Straightening your hair will add length, but be sure that you aren't damaging your hair in the process by using heat and chemicals. Letting your hair air dry wrapped around large curlers or cans is usually an effective and safe method. (if you do have afro-carribean hair, try using a 'Dark and Lovely' product. Still not fast enough for you? Consider hair extensions, but exercise caution. There are many drawbacks to the use of hair extensions. You must make sure that whoever is applying your extensions is a professional. If applied poorly, your extensions will look both fake and severely damage your hair. Take your time selecting your extensions as well. There are a variety of materials and extensions available on the market, many of which can and will look horribly fake. The other drawback is that extensions must be periodically replaced every six to eight weeks. If you are willing to invest the time and money, then they may be the right choice for you. [edit] WarningsConsult your physician before making any dietary changes or changes in your exercise regimen. Be sure to do your research when searching for a hair dresser. If your hair dresser doesn't know what he/she is doing it will make the process a lot longer and/or more stressful. • From ehow: Things You’ll Need: Hair Multivitamin Money to spend on your hair Instructions: Step 1: Keep your hair warm. Hair grows at around 1/2 inch each month during summer, but during a cold winter it only grows about 1/4 inch. Step 2: Take care of your hair. Shampoo and moisturize frequently, and give your hair some room, don't keep it under a hat all the time. Step 3: Make sure you are getting the right vitamins and minerals. A proper diet plays a big part in hair growth. As well, take a daily multivitamin to make up for any diet deficiencies. Step 4: Get out in the sun. If the climate is willing, spend some time in the sun to enrich your body and promote hair growth. Step 5: If you need really quick hair growth, consider buying special shampoo and conditioner. http://www.ehow.com/how_2277187_hair-grow-faster.html
  • apparently i hear there is no true way to make hair grow faster my ex wife was a fully trained hair stylist and she was told that it is a myth that hair grows faster in the summer transplant technology is very advanced nowadays.............
  • You buy hair gerowing cream.... not to be mistaken with growing cream. that stuff doesn't work.
  • The herbs called horsetail and nettle, brewed into a strong tea and used as a rinse on the hair. Both of these plants are considered weeds and may be found in your area. Nettle can also be eaten. Wear gloves when picking! It has tiny "spines" all over it's leaves that when touched will sting the heck out of you. Otherwise, you can get these at a health food store. Buy it in the bulk form. Vitamin E is also good for this. Rub a SMALL amount into the scalp.Place some of the oil into your palms and rub them together first. Don't expect "spectacular" results from any "hair growth" products. Massaging your scalp works good too. It stimulates the blood vessels around the hair roots, which promotes a healthy scalp. Stay away from hair dyes, perms, chemicals, and things thay dry your hair out, like a blow dryer. They cause the breakage of hair--split ends. Trim about 1/4 " off every 3 mo. This may also stimulate growth. If your hair is dry use a conditioner. After shampooing, always use a wide-tooth comb.Wet hair is more suseptible to breakage. Comb knots out by grasping the hair and starting below the knot. A brush tears your hair, remember that. It's not that your hair isn't growing, it's what your'e doing to it.
  • There is no secret for growing your hair faster, although good nutrition, and regular trims does help.
  • Genetics play a role in this, and making a noticeable difference in the rate of growth is damn near impossible, but there are a few things you can do. First and foremost, make sure you're observing a healthy diet and getting plenty of sleep. When you're healthy, your hair is healthy, and hair grows its fastest while you're sleeping. Protein is thought to contribute to hair growth, especially (surprisingly!) bacon, which contains both protein and B-complex vitamins. Among other vitamins to keep an eye out for: biotin, beta-carotene, biosil, b complexes, magnesium, sulfur, zinc, silica, nettle, and flaxseed oil. Believe it or not, skipping the shampoo every other day is good for your hair. You hair naturally generates oils that are beneficial to its health, and you deprive it of these when you wash it every day. You can still take showers, just skip the shampoo, and avoid using overly hot water. The same goes for curling or flattening irons. The heat just isn't good. Don't comb your hair when it's tangled, especially when it's wet. It's especially prone to breaking, and having to rip your comb through your hair is obviously not good for it. Lastly, avoid pulling your hair back tight in pony-tails and the like. Lots more information can be found at: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Your-Hair-Grow-Faster At the bottom of the page, they have a bunch of links for related articles, very helpful.

  • I was told that you should wash it regularly. When you're washing it (and conditioning), gently massage it, and pull it too. Not enough to cause pain, but firm enough for you to feel the tension. This should encourage it to grow. It's not a fact but a hairdresser friend told me this. Worth a try.
  • I am of Native American ancestry (Eastern Band Cherokee) To make your hair grow faster, go into the woods, select a thick, healthy wild grapevine, and cut a notch in the bottom of it(with a sharp knife or small saw), deep enough to allow the grapevine sap to drip out. Collect the sap in a jar and apply it to wet hair after shampooing. It may take 24-48 hrs to collect about a pint of sap. Do not rinse the grapevine sap out. It does not stink, it is not sticky, and it will not look "dull" on your hair. The sap will, however, "ferment" at room temp, and grow cloudy, so keep it refrigerated. It will cause hair to grow at an astonishingly accelerated rate. Be very certain you can distinguish the difference between wild grapevine and giant poison ivy vines. No kidding- it works.
  • I dont know if you have a Sallys Beauty there where you live, but use Hair Colestrol. Its a thick pasty like cream that you apply to your hair from the middle of the scalp. And when you comb it in bust a part down the middle of your head, and then comb it through. Thats only if your hair is virgin meaning you didnt get a perm or relaxer.

I've tried all of these and they do actually work really well! I always use heat spray when using heat on my hair, and also stop using hair dryers if you do. Your hair should start growing about 2cm per month instead of just 1cm. Hope this helps.
