I have dark brown hair. In recent weeks I have noticed highlights of red in my hair. My boyfriend has bright red hair, but I know this cannot be causing my hair to turn red. It's so weird. Other people noticed before me!! What do you think is causing it?

if you have been spending a lot of time in the sun, that can lighten and streak your hair. the highlights are red because all dark brunettes have red undertones to their hair, and your hair must be especially sensitive to sunlight. i think it sounds pretty how you described, but if you don't like it i would suggest using a semi-permanent ammonia-free dye on your hair. it won't be damaging and will cover up the highlights.
