  • tell him that he has a choice-you'll go out with him, but only as a friend, or not at all-it's his call.
  • Go out on one date, and be sure he understands that you are not committing to any more dates by going out with him once. Then give the date as good a chance as you would if it was a different guy. If things work out, great! If not, you have only one step back to take to be just good friends again.
  • After the lust has worn off, you have to live with a person. But if you don't have the chemistry, it's hard to kickstart a deep relationship.
  • go out with him for a bit and see how it goes and since he is your friend then he all ready knows what you like and don't like so that would make it easyer but tell him if it doesn't work out that every thing will go back to the way it was. i asked on of my friends out and she was just like you but she gave me a chance and we dated for two years, the only reason we split was cause she moved.
  • A simple date can't hurt. He's your friend anyway. Wouldn't you go out for an evening with a girlfriend? I would with a guy friend. But -- and this is a big but (no pun intended) -- if he tries to get in your pants, then the friendship is over. The tone of your question implies that he's too insistent. How well do you know him? Will he try? On the other hand, if he doesn't push it, you might find that you would want him as a boyfriend.
