  • Everyone who is used to sociology is well knowing that the word "sociology" has be coined by Auguste Comte in the 1840's. But, very recently, as some scholars worked on unpublished papers from Sieyès, a French leader of the 1789 French Revolution, it was ascertained this word was coined between 1780 and 1790 by Sieyès himself. And Sieyes did not just coined the word. A whole deep thinking about society had been forwarded in these times. A bit different as the way Comte thought at his would-be social science. I hope there wil be more scholar works about Sieyès and the 1780's in the forthcoming years. It is really pretty interesting. First, Sieyès did not think very suitable to shift economy and sociology. Second, he did not thought at society as a given reality but as a human complex construction. Third, sociology was more a science aimed at action than a science for positive and descriptive knowing.
