  • Marilyn Monroe was a size 14.
  • It really depends on your height and your muscle mass. If you are really concerned, ask your doctor during your next annual physical. More than for appearances, it is important to be at a healthy weight (please do not read that as a skinny weight.) so you can live well. However, being stressed out and obsessed about your weight isn't healthy either. If you have been eating well and exercising regularly, and if you have been losing weight slowly, then continue what you're doing. Really truly, speaking with a health care professional is probably your best option. Additionally, they are most likely going to give you the least biased opinion.
  • Heck no. My wife and 17-year-old sister-in-law are both size 18, and they both look great!
  • It is average. You mother isn't doing you or herself any favors being critical of your weight. Now is a good time for you to start listening to YOUR own voice. Are you happy at your current size? Feel strong and healthy? Are strong and healthy? Then you are good.
  • Questions like this really upset me - your mother is the one person in the world who you should be able to rely on to not criticise things like your weight and appearance. They of all people should accept you for who you are. 12/14 is NOT fat! Personally I think there is too much importance placed on the size it says on the label of clothes - if they fit well, you are comfortable and you feel healthy and happy cut the labels out and be done with it ;0)
  • Not at all fat. You are normal. Relax. Tell Mom she needs to get her eyes checked. She obviously needs to do something about her vision of things.
  • No honey. Listen I'm a size 14 and I love feeling womanly and curvy. I mean do you honestly want to be twig, with sunken eyes, limp hair, hollow cheeks, no visible breasts and concave stomach...NO. Congratulations on losing weight! It's a hard HARD thing to do and you have made it. But if you don't have self-confidence, you won't shine to your true extent. Trust me if you have a bubbly, confident, easy-to talk to personality, people tend to gravitate towards you. Also true friends wouldn't criticize you on any weight problems just applaud you on your weight loss. If you have a hourglass shape like me the best thing to do is wear a mid-thigh high necked tunic, leggings (black is extremely flattering) and high heels. Heels elongate your legs, hence making you appear thinner. Its wonderful. Remember Marilyn Monroe, a screen icon was a size 14/16 and she's so beautiful. Just eat healthily, (I lost 10 pounds just cutting out chocolate and crap) and do exercise. I walk home a mile every day, and go to martial arts once a week. If you don't want to out, buy Wii Fit or a pedometer. But honestly don't let the bastards get you down. YOU ARE FABULOUS AND GORGEOUS. xoxo Ps Don;t wear horizontal stripes...They make anybody, even Kate Moss look huge..
  • I would talk to a doctor about it. There were people I knew that were extremely, extremely large framed that looked bony when they were normal weight. So they were completely healthy at higher than normal weights. I wouldn't be able to say anything about your particular situation but a doctor should be able to give you an honest, unbiased medical opinion based on your situation. Either way, I wouldn't listen to the negativity nor would I get too comfortable with the positives. Everyone has their own opinion on what is fat or skinny, healthy or unhealthy. You'll always be too fat or too skinny in someone's eyes. Find your healthy size (which you may already be at.) and work with it. If you're fit and healthy, you're good.
