i can always distinguish when its a book i read - i read a book when i was 14/15 called misery by stephen king - and i have a vivid "memory" of what the room the main character was trapped in was like.
you are very lucky to have such a vivid imagination - treasure it, and do something with it! writing or painting is usually a good choice for people with active imaginations :-)
cause your cool like me!
I do that too, my fav book has a scene in a kitchen and i only have to seea pack or hear "brown sugar" and i can smell the fire and hear the wild weather outside and all those nice compleatly fabricated memories come back.
It is a fact that such things happen to some persons.
Practice Yoga to overcome that problem.
You have a really vivid imagination, and a good memory.

You're reading Why do I have memories and pictures in my head from stories I read years and years ago? Things that I've never really seen only imagined but I remember them sometimes like they really happened.
