  • Who said that they were white?
  • It is never documented that they were white, and most likely if they existed they were not.
  • If Adam and Eve existed, they probably looked closer to Arab than anything else that exists today. Makes a tad more sense that you could eventually get both white and black people from that. Of course, I wasn't there, so everything I'm saying right now is prefaced with a big "PERHAPS- BUT I COULD BE WRONG." ^_^
  • Culture. There's more than one "answer" with the interpretation of "religion", which is why there is more than one religion and more than one church for them all. Artists too have had an impact, obviously because of your question, and the ones that too many people see have angels as "caucasian". Think about the african-americans and their culture, how they were turned into a role in history. White people called the slaves "niggers", which is one reason I think that it's bullshit sometimes that black people call themselves "niggers" because they're underminding themselves, but at the same time the aren't, it's part of their history and now especially in the US their "culture" and they can connect with it, but at the same time people just started calling them "niggers" just because they were black and people told them that's what they were and that's why they aren't "supposed" to like them when there's more to it. It's all influence. That's what the "white" "Adam and Eve" came from. Different cultures have different "depictions", and every religion has it's own "Adam and Eve". Livia
  • As time passed alot of reptiles lost there limbs and developed gills and fins to adapt to there environment.the change of human skin color to a lighter or darker shade according to the environmental conditions is really nothing to wonder about.
  • The Bible says Adam and Eve were the first people created by God directly. But it doesn't mean Adam and Eve were the ONLY people directly created by God. BTW, there was no reference in the Bible whatsoever about the race of Adam and Eve.
  • The origin of Bible based religions is middle-eastern, thus, if Adam and Eve weren't part of a fairy tale, they would most likely be middle-easterners, not white.
  • how do you know whether or not Adam and Eve were white? "Gods people" including Jesus were Hebrew. The people in the area in which the Bible speaks about have considerably darker skin. The Bible and few other text go back a long time, the oldest texts we have belonged to a people with darker skin. I was recently, in fact this is how i came upon your question, asking myself a similar question-- Why do we have white people (at all if not a defect) if according to texts everybody originated from "God's people" or the greater middle eastern area? If you look at all the aboriginal people on earth it seems that they all have darker skin!?? (as far as my knowledge of them goes)---
  • Creative license?
  • I have never been told what colour Adam and Eve were. The Bible does not state what coloour skin they had. Obviously it was not considered important.
  • who knows...maybe adam is white and eve is black. thus, the first interracial relationship. cheers!
  • One time, there were these two men (one black and the other white) and they always argued about whether Jesus was black or white. They made a deal and both decided that when they arrived in Heaven, they would ask St. Peter whether Jesus is black or white. So, the time came and they both died and arrived at the pearly gates. The white man spoke to Apostle Peter first, and he asked, "Where is Jesus? Tell this man Jesus is white!" St. Peter replied, "I can't. He's not white." Then the black man started laughing, but then stopped when Peter said: "Praise the Lord! There He is behind you!" The black man turned around, and the Lord Jesus welcomed them both into Heaven with a "Buenos Dias!" moral of the story: In the end, it doesn't matter what color Jesus is. He was nailed to a cross for all our sins. He descended into hell and was there three days. He led captives in His train. He arose from the grave, because hell couldn't hold Him. He's coming back with the clouds just as He left. He's King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Whether it was a black, white or yellow hand nailed to that cross, I don't care. He's coming back, and He did it all for me even though I'm white, black, green or yellow. It doesn't matter. He saved a wretch like me.
  • How do you know Adam and Eve were white? Were you there?
  • It has never been specified what color Adam and Eve were, because it just does not matter. As it SHOULD not matter now.
  • Who said they were white? My guess is they looked like the Jews. : ) I don't think anyone knows for sure where all the other colors came from! : )
  • Evolution or adaptation to environment. Why are they blackest where they are more in the sun and lighter where there is shade. Dark on top light on bottom. Armpits lighter. Under feet almost white. In mouth they are white. Has to be a relationship with sun exposure and adaptation. Just a thought.
  • The Sun burnt some of their descendants. Probably Cain.
  • Adam and Eve were not white; they were black. So to answer, I would have to reverse the question: Why are there white people, since Adam and Eve were black? Genetic evidence shows that all people on Earth are descended by a couple people who lived in Africa (black people) 45-60,000 years ago. As some of their descendants moved out of Africa, the skin tones changed over hundreds of generations depending on the environmental conditions of the new lands they were inhabiting.
  • Adam was not black. He was red. Adam means red. He was made of red clay. I don't know about Eve. She came from the rib. I assume she had to be white since ribs are white because they are bones.
  • maybe we are all mistaken. maybe adam and eve is neither black nor white, maybe they are hairy or furry, maybe the first man is not the kind of man we got to know over the years. I think god created a monkey-like man and a monkey-like woman, and of course someone might disagree cause the bible says that we are created in the image and likeness of god, but what if god looks like a monkey and we humans just evolved to what we are now. who knows, maybe god is also evolving the same time as man. after all, we really don't know who created who, god created man or man created god.
  • You are making the statement "Adam and Eve were white" as if were a proof. Before you ask the question, you should prove that Adam and Eve were white.
  • Black people Are black because of Evolution, they in in a very Hot Climate or exposed to more ultra-violet radiation and more melanin protect them from UV, As you move away from the equator of the earth you would notice that people get whiter and whiter as UV radiation levels decrease
  • After the murder of Abel, God marked Cain so that all would know him. Back in the day, I was told that meant God made Cain and his decendant black for the crime. Grown and able to think on my own I wonder if it didn't really mean he made them white.
  • read genesis 2;7 and i quote and the lord god formed man of the dust of the ground now tell me what color was the dirt in the garden of eden? if the land was full of lush green vegetation what color soil has the minerals for things to grow, black potting soil you use in gardens today. so why did he say lets create man in our image in our likeness if you want to know what jesus looks like read revelation 1;14 and i quote His head and his were white like wool as white as snow and his eyes were as a flame of fire and feet like brass as if they burned in a furnace (A BLACK MAN)
  • I do not know if Adam amd Eve were white or not but have you ever noticed that in many countries the remnants of their earliest people are dark skinned. The middle east for example has a lot of people that have very dark skin and curly kinky hair even India has alot of negroid looking people with straight hair. I think we are all more connected than some like to think and our connection is to the black side of hummanity as scientific evidence has shown.
  • Where did you get that information? Most likely they looked more like current middle eastern people.
  • Religions around the world offer creation mythologies to explain - at the time that they were written - the unexplainable. With the advent of the modern scientific method. We now know that these stories are just that... stories. They don't hold up as true in the light of rigorous research. For those who say that biological evoultion is "just" a theory. Cling to a basic misunderstanding of what the word "theory" means in science. Contact any biology department at any University on the planet (other than a christian university) you will get a similar answer. Biological evolution is a fact. The theory of natural selection or the mechanism for exactly how evolution progressed is still being researched and is ongoing. But the fact that humans evolved from other non-human life is without debate among reasonable, intelligent people. Posting Comment... Add a Comment
  • Okay, since this is a religious question I'm not going to say the E-word. Honest. But there is still an explanation for humanity's different races. Race as we know it scientifically does not exist; it's just a collection of physical traits passed along. We're all the same species, so it's plausible to think that God somehow magically inserted genetic diversity into the mix to avoid the obvious difficulties associated with concentrated inbreeding. Personally, if I were God, I'd have solved the problem by making all of the first couple hundred womens eggs genetically unique and new (since women do not produce eggs throughout their lives, they're born with them prepackaged), and the problem would have solved itself.
  • The bible gives no physical description of Adam and Eve. Since all races are descendant from these two, it's logical to conclude that they held many variations within their genes.
  • If you believe that Adam and eve were white then do assume that the GOD is Black :)
  • *cough* evolution *cough*
  • I did not know that the big book of.. spoke of the skin color of adam and eve?
  • There's nothing that says Adam and Eve were white, or even human. Only that they were created in God's own image. Now, since the world was drowned in a flood, you can then go from Noah's family (who was saved) to where did black people come from? Can you then add some science into the mix? Noah's children spread out upon the earth. I seem to remember hearing that Shem's line went to Africa, and because of the sweltering sun, became darker and darker. It could also be possible that Noah's children may have married out of the family's "tribe", and those they married may have been black.
  • Adam and Eve were most likely Middle Eastern, thats right the terrorists. assuming they existed. otherwise australopithecus afarensis originated in africa and genetic adaptation over millions of years has led to the development of lighter skin
  • I basically ascribe to the "humans came out of Africa and dispersed" idea (admittedly, I wouldn't passionately fight for it - I haven't done too much background reading on early human migration, etc); so in my case it's more of a "yet there are non-black people on earth". Micro-evolution (or a similar type of process) in localised populations over a long period of time makes a hell of a lot of sense to me - peoples from snow will usually have darker skin (lots of sunlight reflected back onto your skin from the white, white snow), peoples from cold-but-not-antarctic areas have paler skin because there's not as much sun, and not as much need for melanin... etc etc.
  • There was no Adam or Eve. The story is a fable. There a many stories in the bible that mimick stories from ancient egypt...i.e. Horus v.s. Jesus...google it. :)
  • I KNOW! what colour adam and eve were -they were both a medium colour, like the colour of a mixed person, black and white mixed together. The name of that colour is scientificly known as melanin which is in the genes of us all, as human benigns. Its just that adam might of had a more stronger melanin in his genes and why he may have been a darker shaded person and eve most proberly had a lighter shade complexion because of a weaker melanin in her genes. When adem and eve had children some of them had to be of lighter complexion and same of a darker complexion, because the genes we get from our parent determindes what we look like and what the complexion of our skin tone is to be. Sametime those genes from both side of our parents can either develope stronger or weaker in the children of two different colour shaded parents. And in adam and eve's case that must have been so... Adam and eve's children on the other hand, must have slept together and some may have slept with a similer complexioned partner or may have both had a similer pattern of genes in both the man and the women. In that case, some of the couples must have had dark skinned children which were what we call black people and some, had lighter skinned children which, we call white people and some stayed the natural colour in between the black and the white skinned. The darker skinned people... as time moved on must have became even darker as they moved closer to the sun and ligther skinned people got even lighter as they moved further away from it....and thats how black and white skin came to be, but please remember colour is only skin deep and we all started as one colour and one race so dont, forget to love each and everyone as we are all BROTHERS and SISTER, decendence of ADAM and EVE and all GOD'S CHILDREN. I hope my answer has been helpful to this myseriuos and mind bafflerling question. Peace to you all and God bless.xxx
  • adam and eve was black because their was only black people on earth , white peolpe came later in life because of lack of sun in europe .when they left africa for europe so white is a pale side of black the human race is black.
  • Yes, it does say if they were both white in the bible. In the Living Bible, it has a picture of Adam and Eve. And their white.
  • There is no doubt that Adam and eve were black. and Africa is the mothet land for all human race. There's lots of revelation about this issue, but people until now have boubt on. Since the creation of human, God did not create black, white or other races separetly. He created only one race which is BLACK All races in the world came from black. That's the truth .
  • Adam were not WHITE. Adam and EVE were Brown skinned or with genes to produce all so-called 5 colors. Remember, the EXODUS were out of Africa not into Africa. Science has already proved that most people during those biblical times migrated North and lost their skin color and the little amount of melanin that they had. This why today that Europeans nations are caucasoid nations.
  • Read your Bible, the races were created before Adam and Eve. God formed adam and eve after the races for a pure blood line of obediant and God fearing ministers for Adam, Moses, Noah and your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to. And yes eyes like fire, feet like brass, and hair like wool. Sounds like a black mann to me. Evoluotion can never change your skin color I don't care how many years you live in the sun. It is absolutly IMPOSSIBLE. READ YOUR BIBLE PLEASE DON'T BE SCARED OF THE TRUTH. READ AND BELIEVE FOR YOUR SELF, DON'T TAKE MY WORD ON THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lOVE GOD AND FEAR HIM TALK TO HIM HE WOUULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. AMEN GOD BLESS!
