    VINTAGE GLAM0UR

Portugal has been fishing and trading since the 15th century and this activity has almost epic contours. Aside from cod also popular are sardines, especially when grilled as sardinhas assadas, octopus, squid, crabs, shrimp, lobster, hake, horse mackerel (scad), lamprey, sea bass, scabbard (especially in the islands) and a variety of shellfish. Caldeirada is a stew consisting of a variety of fish and shellfish with potatoes, tomato and onion. If you dont want seafood a personal favorite of mine is Carne de Porco à Alentejana which is one of the most traditional pork dishes of Portuguese cuisine, and it is typical from the Alentejo region, in Portugal. It is a combination of pork and clams with potatoes.
