If guests haven't responded to my wedding invitations, am I supposed to assume that they aren't coming or should I call them?

I got married in January, and based on my own experience I would say it depends on how reliable your friends are!

We sent our invitations out from another country to where most of our guests live, so I chased them up as I wasn't sure they had received them. A few didn't realise it was so soon, or hadn't got the invites, so it was well worth doing. However, most of them just hadn't got round to replying as they assumed we would know they were coming! This wasn't much of a surprise, and to be honest, we had assumed they were.

I don't think there's any harm in double-checking, but perhaps they, similarly just haven't got round to rsvp-ing.
