I put premium gas in my 1996 Honda Civic HX and now the check engine light has come on. When scanned, the computer shows no codes. What could be wrong?

I can't answer what might be wrong, there are to many possibilities and not enough information. Premium gas should not make a difference, if the car is rated that it only needs regular, premium is like burning your extra money.

ask the mech to clear the check engine light. and then wait for it to come on again. note what is happening. it could just be a vacuum leak that is ornry and not consistant.

it just plain cant take that gas it is higher octane the higher ur engine compression ratio the higher octane it needs i assume u dont have a turbo or supercharger then just run regular 87 octane pump gas in it run all of that gas out until it is almost empty then fill er up with the right kind of gas thats why most dash boards tell u unleaded gas ONLY just do it
