100%. Back in the early 1950's, Mao attacked Tibet with machine guns. World War II had just ended. The rest of the world was too tired of war and just didn't give damn about a small country in the middle of nowhere.

Absolutely. I respect the Dali Lama very much and it is a dang shame he has to stay away in India where he has found sanctuary. The Tibetan people are very special.

No. Although Tibetans definitely deserve more rights, I don't think independence will help them.

    1) Tibet is mainly desert. They have no economy, and rely on the PRC Government to provide them with money for food, clothes, homes, etc. So basically they have to rely on the PRC government whether they want to or not.

    2) Tibet will probably become filled with military bases from other countries once it becomes separate from China. I mean, China's economy has been rising lately, obiously other countries' governments feel threatened. Those countries would most likely set up bases in Tibet and from Tibet, they'll invade China.

    3) And lastly, independence would only be a form of expressing Tibetan dislike, or even hatred, towards the PRC. I'm not saying Tibetans should hide their thoughts about the PRC government, I'm saying that it is not negativity like this that we want. I think we'd rather Tibet and China come to peace and solve their issues rather than separating.
