Only as a last resort. I very good friend of mine once sank deep into drug and alcohol addiction. I tried to help him, but nothing worked. He simply refused to help himself. Eventually, I decided I had no choice but to walk away.

Now this question is soo not complete. Okay would I turn my back on a friend that was in need of something I could give them that they deserve and would definatley repay back? Absolutely not. But you must turn your back on those "acquantences" who act like friends and are really out to just use your kindness to get something for nothing. Those are the "friends" that you ditch when they need you the most making them think all along that you had their back. Maybe they'll learn.

Only something that could "potentially" harm my wife or kids! I had to turn my back on my "best friend" only once in my life ... and he is my brother! He got involved with a VERY dangerous, nation-wide car theft ring. They came looking to kill him, so I had to break off all contact with my little bro, and it's the tragedy of my life! He's been in prison more than out, and I haven't talked to him in about 15 years ... and I miss him.

unfortunately, this has happened a few times with me. I've had what I thought were good friends...and then I found out they lied to me or betrayed me. A true friend would never do such a thing, and I can't be friends with anyone who does.

I'd turn my back on a friend for a shot of leg. They'd have my full attention back in 2 or 3 minutes anyway.

Anything that would make me turn my back on anybody, would by default, first remove the label of "friend". Great question Troll!

not a lot. i mean i think i would not agree with some things they may do...even if it was divorce or cheating i think i would still be there but if they started doing drugs I wouldnt really want to be apart of that...but only after i tried to get them to clean themselves up without any luck.
