It depends on if you mean best time of the year for weather or best time of the year to get the best deal. If money is plentiful, consider taking a cruise during the summer during the on-season. The weather in the caribbean can be just amazing during the summer months.
If you are looking to save money, summer time probably isn't for you since kids are out of school and it's vacation time. winter time and hurricane season usually yield pretty good deals. Also, 3-day weekend prices have been known to spike due to increased demand.

Consider consulting a travel agent to find out what is the best course of action for you. Websites like orbitz and travelocity are good but dont really have the good personal attention you might find with real travel agents.

I would say in the winter. I'd think it would be too hot in the summer. In the fall and winter it might be cooler around 75-80 which to me is awsome.

I went on a cruise in Nov 14-19, it was a wash out weather wise. about a week before I went there was a huricane, which left the weather cooler than normal, it was cloudy also, and the sea was roaring. Alot of people got sea sick. you had to walk very slow and steady. The best time to go is Dec or Jan for cost.

The traditional Caribbean Cruise season runs from October to April. Thats when you will find the most amount of sailings into and around the Caribbean.

There are cruises during the Summer months, but they are limited to only a few cruise lines and a few cruise ships.

The best prices are usually from September to Early December and Early January (not New Years cruises) to maybe March/April (but this depends on when Easter is). Summer - June-August , Christmas,New Years and Easter sailings are usually higher in price (and sometimes can be double the cost).

Having said all that.. The Hurricane Season runs from Jun-November, so while the rates are great from Sept-December, the weather might not be the best.

You can use the internet to find out about cruises, but I strongly encourage anyone to use the services of a seasoned Cruise Consultant or Travel agent to make your bookings.
