I was recently in a local Salvation Army thrift store looking for a cabinet when I saw that the entire back wall was filled with used, wedding and prom dresses. Out of curiosity I looked and the prices averaged $40 per dress. The classified section of your local newspaper may have a clothing or wedding dress section. People frequently sell wedding dresses after use.

Used wedding dresses.com and you can find them anywere. my wife found hers in a advertising on a tv commercial.

A friend of mine bought her wedding dress on ebay and sold it again on ebay to another buyer before she even got married! She was able to sell it for what she bought it too. Very cool idea if you intend to sell your dress after the ceremony.

Definitely try ebay, but be careful! I LOVE www.preownedweddingdresses.com, or www.bridecouture.com. Great dresses, very reasonably priced. And honest sellers!

http://www.thedresslist.com/ TheDressList.com is the best website I know of to find used wedding dresses because it's all done local so you can even try the dress on first. I don't know about you but I don't feel comfortable paying hundreds of dollars without even trying the dress on.

I would check consignment shops or newspapers. Divorces and weddings that were called off yields more dresses than you think;)
-
http://www.bravobride.com/ Bravobride is a great site, they have thousands of used wedding gowns. They also tons of used wedding items such as accessories, decorations and favors.

Depending on where you live, there are often bridal consignment shops available. I would do a google search for shops in your area. I personally wouldn't like to buy my dress online, just because the fit should be right and things may look better in the picture than on your body. I know that happened with me. Another thing you might try is craigslist for your area as well. You should be able to meet up with the person and try on the dress before you buy it. Good luck, and congrats!!
