Luxury cruises, like those offered by Silversea Cruises, offer the same basic activities, such as guest lectures, dance or cooking classes, golf putting, cards, pools, spas, library, casinos and shows in the theater. A major difference in amenities is the service and the staterooms. Aboard Silversea Cruise lines for instance, the cabins are much larger, with far more balconies and verandahs. Another major difference is that on the luxury cruise, they are frequently all inclusive, whereas on lines such as Carnival, any alcohol you consume is charged to you, as are soft drinks. On the luxury cruise, you are frequently greeted with a flute of champagne as a complimentary service and all further drinks are handled that way as well on many of them. Radisson Cruise Lines, Seven Seas Voyager is an all-suite, all balcony ship, that has fruit bowls in each stateroom that are replenished daily, complimentary water sports and gear on some sailings, gentlemen hosts, and cordon bleu dining. If you really want to be pampered, a luxury cruise is the way to go in my opinion.
