Without reviewing you personal circumstances, I must say that it is possible that the 'extra' income goes more towards added taxes than int your pockets.
My in-laws earn about what you do and are no better off than my wife and I (only one full-time job each for ~$38K/yr).

You're reading I am married and live in a state with no state income tax. With the two jobs we work the income is not enough to pay off our bills. Is it worthwhile for the both of us to work two extra full time jobs? Together we currently gross $51K/yr.
