  • Unfortunately, this just isn't possible as far as I know - it would otherwise render the whole system of User Privileges redundant if a Guest user had Admin privileges. The only other way to do it is to assign higher privileges to the Guest account, but that's also a no-brainer. The only way I can think of doing it would involve a hack to get a programme running with Debug user privileges (i.e. full), and the programme creating a new user account manually - but that's a dirty hack and not recommended. Much easier to just log in as Admin and do it from the Control Panel. However, if you're in a situation where you've forgotten the Admin login, and you need to create another account with Admin privileges, the only way to do this is use the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor (found at this page: http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ ), reset the password, then log in as Admin and do whatever. Of course, if you don't have valid access as Administrator on the machine in question, and you after a way to raise your privileges illegitimately, then you're a very naughty person. :P Creating new user accounts / changing passwords of user accounts for machines on networks is a different matter - there are various situations covered on this page: http://www.petri.co.il/reset_domain_admin_password_in_windows_2000_ad.htm ... Changing your password on Windows XP or Windows 2003 Server is also covered on that page, as a different process is involved again.
