Well I suppose... I think I've finally learned the difference between "it's" and "its"! :)
-
Yeah! For example, the internet has helped me a lot in studying French on my own.
-
I think ur kidding, cuz 2 many ppl type like this.
-
Sure, I guess. But it really didn't help all that much when somebody invented 1337 speak
-
Only people who actively seek to improve their literacy. Otherwise it's just encouraged a grander scale of text speak. Improving your own spelling and articulation comes from reading as much as anything and so that is not strictly limited to the internet.
-
I think quite the opposite.
-
I don't think so. I am astounded by the number of grammatical and spelling errors I see online. Some people don't even seem to know the rudiments of good literacy.
-
Its made it easier to access the information to learn how to read if that is what you mean.
-
I do think that the Internet has helped improve literacy. It's helped me. The Internet has also helped me understand Geography. Before being exposed to the Internet, I thought that everyone was like me and everyone grew up the same way I did and so on. I found out I was wrong. I found out that there are different customs and different ways of being brought up and so on. It's all in how you use the Internet that matters, not what can be found on it.
-
No. I think people are getting stupider all over the place though I think that the Internet has nothing to do with that.
-
No, quite the reverse, although it's a wonderful research tool and must have made learning easier.
-
mine has been. I can socialize, keep up with friends lives that I never see, talk to people thru email, play games, learn a LOT thru research, order online (must for disabled person).. It's an awesome thing
-
YES! And I'm EVER so thankful to Al Gore for inventing it! (If you can't see the sarcasm dripping down your computer monitor here, let me know...)
-
Overall, no. It can be useful, but most people idle a lot of time away on it. I mainly use it to play games and while a little entertainment is good, I sometimes use it to excess and get nothing else done all day.
-
Yes I do. The only way it can be detrimental is if people spend too much time chatting or ABing instead of living a real life and just using the internet as another tool.
