Sorry, I know this doesn't really answer your question, but I feel called to spout off on this topic of people who leave Answerbag. People leave for different reasons, but one of the common views is that people leave because they're "bullied off the site" by trolls or enemies, or because they grow weary of the sniping, cliques, and intrigue. I concede that all sorts of backroom politics goes on, and people become angry and decide that Answerbag is a problem in their lives, and that they need to return to "real life", etc. But the dramatic mode with which people often depart (changing usernames to something sorrowful, writing self-serving or self-pitying goodbye speeches, etc.) says to me some form of "I was unable to roll with the changes on Answerbag, and so I'm going to take my toys and go home in a huff." I think to stick around for a long time and be satisfied here, you have to be able to keep letting go of the past. I can think of a dozen people I really liked a lot who have left and not come back. Yes, I miss them... in some cases I still talk to them by IM or email. But I don't get stuck in missing them, and I don't get stuck in being angry at whomever is trolling me today, and I don't get stuck in being embarrassed about whatever my latest misstep was, and I don't get stuck in hating some person I always argue with, and so forth. That "not getting stuck" doesn't mean I don't have those feelings, it just means that I'm eventually able to be aware of them and let go of them. Invariably, I meet some new person I really like, or develop a new appreciation for some older user whom I never really knew before. Life flows on. The only way to screw it up is to refuse to flow with it. This applies to Answerbag as well as "real life" (which isn't really some separate domain, by the way).
