  • Here's a link to the story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071130/wl_nm/venezuela_oil_dc
  • That Chavez is crazy as all get out, and probably won't actually do anything. He's mostly bark.
  • My first thought was "Good! Then BoPec will close, and we don't have to worry about oil spills in those BEAUTIFUL coral reefs off the coast of Bonaire" then I thought... "All those wonderful people on Bonaire who depend on their job at BoPec to feed their families would be out of work..." I don't know.. doesn't sound good to me.
  • Venezuela's leader badly needs a lesson in diplomacy and self-restraint. Hopefully, a sound defeat in Sunday's referendum will bring him to his senses.
  • If anyone ever needed to meet an assassin's bullet, it's Hugo Chavez. He's the South American version of Hitler. Compare his rise to power to Hitler's and you'll see alarming similarities. Now, if we could get an assassin to line the shot up so that he gets Sean Penn as well......
  • Here is thebit of the story everyone needs to read... "Venezuela's leftist President Hugo Chavez said on Friday he will cut oil sales to the United States if the American government interferes in Sunday's referendum aimed at allowing him to run for reelection indefinitely." I say fair enough! The US has no business sticking their nose into other countries business (nor does any other country for that matter).
  • It doesn't mean that much in the bigger picture. The world oil market is such that if Venezuela doesn't sell the oil to the United States, they'll sell it to someone else. That means that some other oil producer will sell less oil to whomever buys the US-earmarked Venezuelan exports. That other producer will then be eager to sell their oil to the United States. Net effect: Almost zero.
  • I hope relations between the two countries get better.
