Yes there is! Cool Amphibious Manufacturers International, LLC, is now marketing their TerraWind line of combination Motor Coach / Yachts. Thats right, a 42 foot Luxury RV you can take to, or in, the lake! With a not exactly cheap pricetag of $850K+, included is the full rigging of luxury home features: Granite countertops, marble floors, teak cabinetry, tracking satellite dish, and 42" plasma TV. Oh and don't forget the swim deck. If I can get one with an ocean rated hull, machine gun turrets, and SVO conversion, I'll have my own portable Sealand. Click on this link to see it in action!

Amphibious RV?!
Yes, you read that headline correctly. A company in South Carolina is building luxury "Amphibious Motor Coaches" for the incredibly well-heeled. You'll need at least $850,000 US to get into one of these and will need to pony up $1.2 million US for the version shown on their web site.
You Bet! I have been over to England, Wales, and the rest of the U.K.. They have a wonderful RV called a "Narrowboat". It has all of the equipment of any first class RV in the United States. They are located on the old canals of England which were built in the 1700's and 1800's. They are about 7 feet wide, about 7 feet high, and can range from 20 to 70 feet long, i.e. like a cigar. They have heavy steel hulls, a small diesel engine, and they cruise about 3 to 4 miles an hour. You are not supposed to cruise faster as the wake from the boat washes the sides of the canal and causes sediment to wash down and clog the canal. They are mostly located in rural areas of the U.K., and have the original "locks" which you operate yourself to raise and lower the boat from one side to the other. You can rent them from several narrowboat operators by the week or whatever. Type in "Narrowboats" on Google or any other search engine, and it will direct you to information about them, and where you can rent them. Some of the longer boats have a living room, some with fireplaces. All of them have bathrooms with a shower, toilet, kitchen, bedrooms, a drying closet heated with the propane furnace, heating radiators throughout the boat, a deck in front, a steering deck at the rear, a dining area, plenty of closets, and are very liveable. They rent from about $650 to whatever you want in the class of boat you rent. I have been on two of these "cruises" and they are a lot of fun! Please note, you need to have at least two people on the cruise, one to operate the boat, and one to operate the locks when you arrive at them. Some locks are more work in operating due to maintenance and some are very easy. The British Government is restoring as much of the canal system as they can with limited funds. Many of the canal routes are in excellent condition. It is a really great way to see parts of the U.K. you wouldn't see otherwise, including historic buildings, homes, museums, castles, cathedrals, and other historic places. Also, the best part are the pubs located right on the canals at various places. When you want to stop for the night, you just pull along side a straight stretch, or near a pub, and either tie up at a dock (near the pub), of if you are out in a remote place, you pull over to the right side of the canal, and drive a steel stake at the front of the boat into the side of the canal, and one at the stern, and tie your ropes at each end to the stakes. It is plenty safe to take these canal cruises, and loads of fun. You meet some really wonderful people along the way.
