Is there any way to modify a Playstation 2 to play exclusively Japanese games, like to get an American PS2 to play a Japanese version of DDR Extreme?

I think the best way would be to buy a Japanese playstation from an importer. Some Mod chips are unstable and installing them will void your guarantee
