  • Alcohol is refreshing for occasional use on the face as well as cleansing. Excess use can cause dryness with subsequent irritation if used especially on sensitive skin. Cleaning your pores is accomplished just as effectievely with soap and water and things in the soap that help break down dirt that gets stuck in pores. Enjoy the splash, use in moderation.
  • If you have oily skin, alcohol is an awful idea for cleansing the skin, because it sucks all the moisture out of your face, which in turn, causes your pores to pump out twice the oil. If you have dry skin, it will cause it to be even drier.
  • You can us it but be careful because it sucks all the moisture out and leaves your face dry its a catch 22
  • Steam some water and drape a towel over your head and hang out for awhile or run the tap for hot hot hot water and place on face, when it is tolerable and won't burn your skin. Your pores will be open. You can use cetaphyl and your face, find it at a drug store..very gentle on skin. Then rinse liberally with luke warm water and then you can use witch hazel...can get for 99 cents at drug store, with a cotton ball as a toner. All natural and gentle.
  • I dont even use afteshave on my face, the alcohol ages the skin as well as encourages the pores to produce more oil, and so making it more blocked. I use an aftershave balm, which has a moisturiser in it.
  • believe me, its better in your mouth. at least then you'll be too drunk to care about your pores or your face
  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not, EVER use alcohol on your face! As others on here have correctely stated, it just makes the skin produce more oil, 'cause you are drying the heck out of it!! If you have oily skin, use the most gentle cleanser you can find; some are Pears soap, Cetaphil liquid cleanser, which you can find in a store brand, side by side; same ingredients, lower price!!......if you have any other questions or concerns about oily skin, please let me know!! I am a retired makeup artist........
  • hello any help me i have one dout how to use white wine on my face any answer me 7graja@gmail.com
  • It really depends on your skin, everyone is different and some things work for some people. I can speak from experience. When I was about 15 Yrs Old I started using a few cotton balls put some alcohol on and sit in front of the TV twice a day and just rub my face with them. I never broke out and never had a pimple from my teens to about 27 yrs old. The dirt that came out onto the cotton balls was gross and my skin was always smooth. I had a bad allergic reaction to something I ate and my skin was red and irritated so I stopped using everything. I decided to go with different cleansers, moisturizers etc. I broke out so bad and got acne all over my face. Then I go to the derm and start Retin A (Worked but still got pimples after a year of using). Tried Accutane ( Gross, stopped after 3 days ). Went to OCM, Proactive, Home Remedies etc over the next 7 years. Nothing worked and my skin was getting scars and looked horrible. It was dry all the time. I tried honey, green tea, Tea Tree, clay, masks, you name it I tried it trust me. I changed my diet, liquids, raw food, whole grains etc. I spent ALOT of money and time and stress trying to get my skin back to normal, hours upon hours of research. I figured something had to work but it never did. So I dealt with it and did the best I could. Finally 10 Years later I thought of when my skin looked and fealt the best and what am I doing differently. I remembered the Alcohol, but everyone said not to use it. I had nothing to lose so I went back to what worked for me. 6 days later my skin was healing, NO bumps and anything I had that was under the surface ready to come up was gone. My skin is clear and fresh, I am finally getting myself back to the way I was :-) I use Alcohol on cotton balls twice a day for like 15 Mins. Immediately after I put about 5 drops of Jojoba Oil and 2 drops of Lemon Oil (Only Pure oil) on my face and rub it in. Then let my skin soak it up and apply my foundation and make up. Morning and before bed. Why didn't I do this earlier? I finally feel good and love looking in the mirror now. I will not say this is a cure all and will not imply that it will work for you. ALL I can say is it has worked for me and I love spending $1.50 for Alcohol, $7.00 for Jojoba Oil and $8.00 for Lemon Oil. This lasts me 3 months and my skin is beautiful and glowing. I hope this helps and again EVERYONE is made different so it may work and it may not. 10 Years of trying and all I had to do was think back on what I did before my skin went Psycho!
