  • I'm not sure how I feel. The closest one to me is over 20 miles away. There's one in my area due to open at the beginning of next year. I know that's going to hurt the other retail businesses in the area because they won't be able to stay competitive. Let's face it... Wal*Mart does have the best prices. People are going to shop there for that reason. Not sure if saving a buck or two is worth the closing of other stores and loss of jobs in the area though. Guess I'll be finding out soon.
  • I know alot of people are against Wal-Mart, but truthfully, I don't think I would be able to feed my family if it were not for them. I also shop at Sav-A-Lot grocery stores. Things are just getting to be too expensive.
  • I don't avoid it but the other stores are much closer.
  • They've succeeded in doing what all other stores want to do: become powerful enough to dictate wholesale prices. Why should we hate them for being successful? Because they won't let their workers unionize? Of course they won't, because that would undo everything they've done...
  • Seeing as I work for Wally World, I cant say that another retail giant would benefit me in anyway.
  • Yes,We need one where I live !
  • I love wal-mart, and dislike unions. Also as the value of China's currency continues to rise, you will see wal-mart have less of an advantage over other retailers.
  • I really don't like Wal-Mart, and very rarely shop there. I've seen too many small town businesses "go under" when Wal-Mart moved in. I really do try to shop in more locally owned stored when I can. That's not saying that I never go to Wal-Mart...just rarely (maybe 5 times a year).
