The time a home stays on the market largely depends on the area you live in. If you are interested in selling a home, the best way to find out the answer is to contact local realtors and ask them how long houses sit on the market on average. Many real estate agencies list this information on their web site. However, many real estate agencies aim to sell the homes withing a month. After a 30 day period, they may adjust to price of the listing to procur a quicker sale. It is also helpful to remember that homes generally move quicker in the spring and the summer than they do in the winter, especially around the holidays.
